Open in imaging
One click on the patient opens your imaging program on that same patient, on the computer you are at, the way Dentrix and Open Dental bridges do. We set it up and confirm it on your computers before you switch.
Receive from your devices
A CBCT, pano or imaging archive set to send images over the network (DICOM) can send them to the app; they upload like any other X-ray.
Straight from the sensor
No imaging program? On Windows, the app can take X-rays directly from a sensor through its TWAIN driver and file them on the patient.
Bring your old X-rays
Switching software? Import your X-ray archive, filed on each patient by chart number and dated when each image was taken.
The right patient
Images file on the patient you opened or started a capture for, by when they were taken. Anything Aveo cannot be sure of waits in an inbox for a person, never on a guessed chart.
X-rays and camera photos
Intraoral camera photos sync too, and are filed as photos, not X-rays.
DICOM and TIFF
JPG, PNG, BMP, TIFF and DICOM files sync. The chart shows a preview for most files and always keeps the original. A DICOM naming a different patient is held for review instead of filed.
Works offline
Queue persists locally. Failed uploads retry automatically when connection returns.
How it works
Install on the imaging PC
Sign in to your Aveo account, open Settings → Desktop X-ray Sync, and download the installer for Windows or Mac. Run it on any workstation connected to your intraoral sensor.
Pair the workstation
The desktop client shows a 6-character pair code. Enter it back in Aveo, and the workstation is connected to your practice — no copying tokens, no API keys.
Point it at your imaging folders
Pick the folder your imaging software saves X-rays to, and your intraoral camera's photo folder. Set each folder to X-rays, photos, or auto. Imaging software that keeps images in its own database can send them to the app over the network instead (DICOM), or export them to that folder.
X-rays attach themselves
Click 'Open in imaging' (or 'Capture X-ray') on the patient's chart, take the image, and it lands on the right chart automatically. No manual import. An image that names a different patient waits for review instead.
